How do I check if a link is safe to click on?

1) Objectives

a) To check if a link in an email is safe to open

2) Requirements

a) Web browser

b) Internet access

3) Steps

a) Copy the link via right click.  Do NOT left click on the link.

b) Using a web browser, goto https://www.virustotal.com/ and paste the link in the search bar

c) Result of the malicious link will be displayed in red and score.

a) Contact IT team for assistance.
